Seven Habits of Highly Effective is a comprehensive and integrated approach towards the realization of personal and interpersonal efektivitas. The habit is a behavior pattern which consists of three elements meet each other, namely: knowledge, desire and skill.

Habits we acquire by learning, rather than we inherited. Therefore this is our second nature, not the first. However, what we have today is not our habit. We can create or release our habits.

  • Develop a clear definition of your top priorities and the results you want
  • Achieve balance and increase productivity through a weekly and daily planning process
  • End self-defeating behavior and gain the necessary security you need to enable change
  • Develop strong relationships based on mutual trust
  • Be prepared to deal with difficult circumstances before they happen

Habit 1  : Be Proactive

Habits – Personal Vision. Being proactive is something more than just taking the initiative. It is recognizing that we are responsible for our choices and have the freedom to choose based on the principles and values rather than on moods or conditions around us. People who are proactive agents of change, and chose to not become victims, to not be reactive, they chose to not blame others

  • Take initiative
  • Manage change
  • Respond proactively
  • Keep commitments
  • Take responsibility and have accountability
  • Have a positive influence on results

Habit 2  : Begin With The End In Mind

Habits–Personal Leadership. Individuals, families, teams and organizations shape their future by first creating a mental vision for any project, large or small, personal or interpersonal. They do not just live from day to day without a clear purpose in mind. They identify themselves and give a commitment to the principles, relationships, and goals that matter most to them

Habit 3 : Put First Things First

Habits – Personal Management. Putting the primary means organizing and executing based on the priorities of the most important. Whatever the situation, it is living with is based on the principles that felt the most valuable, not by the agendas and forces surrounding the urgent only.

  7. Use planning tools effectively
  8. Use effective time-management skills

Habit 4 : Think Win-Win

Think win-win is a frame of mind and heart that seeks mutual benefit and mutual respect in all interactions. Think win-win is thinking with the basics of Abundant Mentality which saw many opportunities, and not think scarcity and competition kill each other. This character is not thinking selfishly (win-lose) or like a martyr (kalahmenang). This character is thinking in terms of the interests of “we”, not “me”.

  1.  Build high-trust relationships
  2.  Build effective teams
  3.  Apply successful negotiation skills
  4.  Use effective collaboration
  5.  Build productive business relationships

Habit 5 : Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood

Effective Communication in question is communicating with empathy, trying to understand first and then trying to understand. If we listen with the intent to understand others, and not just for mencai crack for answers, we can start the communication and relationship building are true. Opportunities to speak openly and to be understood and then will come more naturally and easily. Seeking to understand requires mature consideration; trying to be understood requires courage. Effectiveness lies in balancing or combining both.

  1.  Apply effective interpersonal communication
  2.  Overcome communication pitfalls
  3.  Apply effective listening skills
  4. Understand others
  5.  Reach mutual understanding
  6.  Communicate viewpoints effectively
  7.  Apply productive input and feedback
  8.  Apply effective persuasion techniques

Habit 6 : Synergize

Synergy is a third alternative – not my way, your way, but a third way better than what we can accomplish individually. Synergy is the fruit of the attitude of respect, appreciate, and even celebrate the differences among the people. Synergy has to do with efforts to solve problems, seize opportunities and resolve differences. It’s like a creative collaboration where 1 + 1 = 3, 11, 111, … or even more. Synergy is also the key to the success of the team or to any effective relationship. A team that synergy is a complementary team, where the team was arranged so that the strength of its members can cover each other weaknesses. In this way we optimize the strength, to work with these strengths and make weaknesses of each person becomes irrelevant.

  1.  Leveraging diversity
  2. Apply effective problem solving
  3. Apply collaborative decision making
  4. Value differences
  5.  Build on divergent strengths
  6.  Leverage creative collaboration
  7.  Embrace and leverage innovation

Habit 7 : Sharpen the Saw

Sharpen the saw with respect to our efforts to renew themselves continuously on four basic areas of life: physical, social / emotional, mental, and spiritual. This is a character that enhances our capacity to run all the other habits that will improve our effectiveness.

  1.  Achieve life balance
  2. Apply continuous improvement
  3. Seek continuous learning

Habit 8: Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs

The essence of this habit is that you will find your voice when you can say that you are 100% involved in what you are doing with your life. By 100% involvement, what is meant is that your body, mind, heart and spirit are all engaged in the adventure – whatever that is for you.

To find your voice, you need to examine your natural talent – you are good at something! Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. When you have found your voice, you can begin inspiring others to do the same thing.
